Why are we changing from Visa to Mastercard?
Mastercard offers enhanced benefits and an improved member experience with access to:
- The Priceless Platform where your Mastercard benefits can be reviewed, claims can be filed; and life experiences can be scheduled at discounted costs; visit the Priceless Website.
- The Easy Savings program where participating merchants share offers for discounted pricing or rebates in the form of statement credits when purchases are made at their locations using your Michigan First Mastercard credit card; visit the Easy Savings Website.
When will I receive my new Mastercard card?
Cards should be received by 8/31/25; if you do not receive it by then, call 866.820.2946.
Can I pick up my new card?
Your new card will be mailed to your current address on file; update your address through mobile or online banking or by visiting a branch before 08/4/25 to ensure the card is mailed to the correct address.
Can I pick my design?
There will be one design for each type of Mastercard credit card.
Are there any changes to the terms, fees or annual percentage rate (APR)?
There are no changes to the terms, conditions, fees, or APR of your Michigan First Mastercard credit card.
Will the benefits be the same?
You will receive new Mastercard benefit disclosures for Auto Rental, Extended Warranty, Trip Cancellation, Trip Delay, and more with your new card!
When will my balance transfer?
When your new card is created.
Your Visa® credit card will work through 09/05/25; after that date, any authorization attempted will be declined.
Will I receive a new PIN?
If you didn’t set a PIN at activation, a new PIN can be set up by calling 888.891.2435.
Do I have to add the new card to my mobile wallet?
Yes — because this is a newly issued card, you will need to manually add it to your mobile wallet in order to continue using it for digital payments.
Will my card number be updated with merchants I have saved my card data with or have recurring charges?
You will want to verify with those merchants to ensure your new card details are updated.
Please note: While some merchants may update your information automatically through Mastercard's Automatic Billing Updater (ABU) service, not all do. To avoid missed or late payments, we recommend contacting any service providers to confirm your card details have been updated.
Will my auto pay need to be set up again?
Yes — you will need to re-establish your automatic payment once you receive your new card to ensure continued payment processing.
Will I need to update my Bill Pay for payments I send from another institution?
Yes — you will need to update your bill pay with your new card number; otherwise, this could delay posting your payment.
No — your due date will not change and will continue to be the 1st of every month.
Will the date my statements generate change?
No — there will be no change to when statements generate (25 days before the 1st of each month).
No — the program remains the same (1.5 points for Michigan based transactions and 1 point for all others).
Will I lose my current Rewards points?
No — you will not lose any points and will continue to view your Rewards account through mobile or online banking.
Will the number I call for cardholder service or Rewards change?
No — continue to call 866.820.2946 for cardholder service and 855.397.3764 for Rewards service.
What happens if I have a fraud or dispute claim pending?
Your claim will not be impacted; it will continue until it is resolved.
There should be no disruptions as long as you activate and begin using your new cards by August 31. We recommend updating any recurring payments promptly to avoid declined transactions.
Will existing employee cards be reissued under the new program?
Yes — each employee currently assigned a card will receive a new card from Mastercard; all cards will be mailed separately to the business address; card numbers and expiration dates will change.
Do I need to update card information with vendors, suppliers, or service providers?
Yes — because card numbers and expiration dates will change, any recurring payments will need to be updated with the new card information to ensure continued service as not all merchants participate in Mastercard's Automated Billing Updater.
